The Story of Brick's Classrooms

Every classroom at Brick sends a weekly communication to families that reflects our pedagogical philosophy and documents the learning the children are experiencing in the classroom. Our goal is for this communication to be a tool that can be used at home to help our students share what they are working on and excited about.

 

Your classroom will share "The Story of [classroom]" each week, so named in the spirit of our Story of Us Curriculum. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to documentation, this template is brief and informative and goes deeper into the description of one area of classroom learning. Over time, all areas of classroom learning are covered, and our teachers share "why" a learning experience is meaningful and "how" it is instructional. Each story includes a few meaningful photographs that will help bring the Story of the week to life.

 

Additionally, families will receive photos of the children at work and at play. These photos will be shared once a month.​​​
